| | Customer Reviews: Visually the best blu-ray i have seen. (08 January 2009)I was never intending to buy this on blu-ray. It's an old film and it really showed on dvd. However after reading so many rave reviews I thought I might as well. All I can say is WOW! The quality of the picture and the colours on my Sony lcd completely blew me away! With some blu-rays I find the difference is only "blow you away obvious" with wide angle scenic shots... but not here! Every minute of the film just demonstrates the visual quality of blu-ray, and for that reason alone it should be a must in everyones collection. Totally agree! Amazing transfer! (06 January 2009)Wow! I can't agree enough with all the other reviews on here. What an amazing transfer this is. The picture quility is just stunning. I watched the Blu Ray version of Shawshank Redemption just before I popped this disc in and was amazed at how much crisper and vibrant the Zulu picture was. If you love Zulu, this is the edition to get without doubt! 5 stars for the film, 5 stars for the quality. Wait til you see the whites of their eyes! (04 January 2009)This film over the years, like many of you out there, i have seen dozens of times. But on blueray you see details not even the big screen can do justice with. The colours of the scenery and the red uniforms are incredible. Shame about the sound but so what, the views more than make up for it. As to the film itself, stanly baker showed both sides as couragous, one fighting to survive, the other fighting for their homeland. A far cry from cowboys and indians films. Buy this and you wont regret it Unbelievably good (28 December 2008)Wow this looks jaw-droppingly amazing for such an old film. I guess the large negative format helps a good deal but still it is a great transfer. I couldn't believe how good it looked and the extra detail really helped to draw me into the story and the isolation of the setting. wow (10 December 2008)just got zulu on blue-ray i wont right a film review as theve been done on here all i will say i was stunned at the absolute fantastic picture and sound quality of this film the scenery+colours and clarity are mind blowing even more so when you think this film was made in the early 60s ive seen quite a few blue-ray films this has got to be one of the best transfers to blue-ray ive seen oh by the way the films got to be one of the best to buy this at this great price and be amazed by the quality of everything about this film |
