  Film v. Book (11 March 2010)
As a stand alone film you might find it worth watching. If you've read the book you are more likely to find the film a disappointment. My partner, who had not read the book, gave up half way through and went to bed saying it was just the same thing all the time - some guy disappearing and then reappearing.

I didn't expect a word by word reproduction, but too much of the original story was missing, for me.

I bought the Blu Ray version thinking there would be lots of worthwhile extras. Even with my player connected to the Web I couldn't find much apart from the film itself so I wished I'd saved my money and got the cheaper DVD version. If you've got a half decent TV and player that gives you good sound and vision I reckon you would be better off doing that - if you end up buying it.

  Beautifully Edited (11 March 2010)
I read this book a couple of years ago on release, although a strange concept the story has always stayed with me - the film edit is as moving and beautifully written as the book - Loved It!!

  The Time Traveler's Wife (09 March 2010)
Read the book and loved it. Therefore did not expect much from film. Certainly changes were made but the essence of the book remained. Acting was beautiful and poignant. I had been told it was hard to follow, however I did not find this at all. I cried, daughter cried and son got something in his eye! Both are now fighting to borrow the book!

Cute romantic drama (07 March 2010)
I enjoyed watching this movie, and the end almost made me cry. A really beautiful, romantic drama. I would recommend watching it for all women (or men, who like romantic dramas)

I have not read the book before watching the movie, but i understood everything, i think the plot is clear.

About the bluray dics: i was very disappointed by what it had to offer. When you insert the disc, you have to watch three trailers, lasting over ten minutes. Then there is no menu, the film starts playing straight away. Later i was able to find a menu of some sort, but there is no BD LIVE option and no extras menu. I'd expect more from a BRD!

Enjoyable chick flick (07 March 2010)
The Time Traveler's (or Traveller's) Wife is undoubtedly a chick-flick. It's enjoyable enough, a little confusing (I kept analysing the timeline of the traveller(s) throughout the film and worrying about matter occupying the same time and space), but ok enough - certainly good for watching with your other half. Do keep the tissues handy though.

I am told that the book of the same name is very good and that the film is a good adaptation of it - there are bits missing, but nothing too significant other than one scene in a cage in the middle of a stairwell.

When the book was first described to me, I thought the whole thing sounded very dodgy - it sounded like a time traveller grooming a young girl until she became his wife. However, the film did not feel like that, even if analysing it does leave a lingering doubt. Instead, it came across as innocent and romantic, with past events simply occurring in order to finish at a known future point. Admittedly, it was predictable in a confusing timeline sort of way, but still enjoyable enough.
