| | Customer Reviews: Geoff was an Amazing Man! (09 September 2008)This collecion is a must have for all people that loves gardens. I'm in Australia and the climate is different from England but the series is so packed of precious knowledge that I'm finding myself watching the DVD's over and over again. I'm an horticulturist but still find invaluable knowledge and I find it even more precious because is coming from the heart. Geoff was a very nice and enthusiastic person, with great love for gardening; and you can feel this watching and hearing him. I also love the pace of the series, not rushing like many modern programs that are a very fast pace. Geoff takes time to explain things in simple english and showing heaps of examples, historical connections, interviews and beautiful gardens of both pro and amateurs. This is one of the best DVD's I ever bought, a real pearl! But if you like modern, cold, garden designs than this series is not for you. Perfect (01 April 2008)Geoff Hamilton was THE architypal gardener. His easy-natured approach and love of traditional gardening methods have stood the test of time, and always will do. The 3 dvd's are beautifully filmed, wonderfully atmospheric and thoroughly informative. Geoff creates some stunning gardens and, along the way, meets several other gardeners (I must mention old George in "Cottage Gardens" - a hero of mine) and this adds to the flavour of the series, and should inspire anyone pick up a fork and get cracking. Buy it - it's a wonderful way to spend an evening in front of the telly. Geoff Hamilton was an inspiration (23 February 2008)It's great to have these three series available on disc. Geoff inspired so many people to put more thought into their gardening. I was privileged to be hired to do the weaving scene in the Cottage Gardens video and saw at first hand the meticulous work that went into these projects. Brilliant gardening (29 October 2007)These DVDs were exactly what I was looking for being a new gardener. Geoff Hamilton can inspire anyone to start gardening or go on and explore new species. There are step by step instructions on almost all matters from planting, propagating, pruning, composting, creating a cottage garden, preparing a new garden from scratch. I wish there were more of these DVDs. Those were the days (05 September 2007)Superb. Bursting with inspiration for all levels of experience. Simple but practical advice focusing heavily on plants. It's the DVD that gardeners have been waiting for. Either buy it for yourself, or as a gift for someone else. Excellent. |
