| | Customer Reviews: Great work! (24 December 2008)I have some of them already but i just had to buy this amazing set of 17 DVD for, what i call, a bargain price. Does anybody know what languages are available for subtitles? I cant seem to find anything about that...  dorf (03 November 2008)This boxed set is not described here by Amazon, and that makes it impossible to know what the content is. In fact some of the same dvds are offered by Amazon separately, so if you do not know which episodes are in this set you may already have some (like I did when I purchased this) or you may order some on a duplicated basis in the same order. So beware. For your information I will list the content here so that you can avoid this problem. This set (The Bible) is the largest TV-based movie ever undertaken, and not to be confused with other films also named "The Bible", some of which are also sold here on Amazon. The stars here include Ben Kingsley, Gary Oldman, Richard Harris, Dennis Hopper, Oliver Reed, Sean Bean, Barbara Hershey, Jeremy Sisto, Michael Gambon, Christopher Lee, Jonathan Pryce and Diana Rigg. Directors of the films in this series include Academy and Emmy award-winners Joseph Sargent, Roger Young, Nicolas Roeg and Robert Markowitz, with title music composed, arranged and conducted by the legendary Ennio Morricone. Especially enjoyed watching Oliver Reed, who played Jeremiah. I loved the films and felt they were an invaluable witness to all, and would definitely recommend them. I took the Set on holiday to Peru for my relatives. My daughter's mother in law who is blind could only hear the Jesus film but was profoundly touched by it, she made a lot of appreciative noises and she cannot speak through having a brain tumour. Your thoughts and prayers for her would be greatly appreciated. Only criticism was, maybe not 100% scripturally precise. An element of poetic licence only so common when producing films. have to watch (25 September 2008)have seen most of these films and they are so near to the Bible and well acted worth watching. a must for any Bible reader |
