Customer Reviews:

  Mama Mia!..here I go... (29 December 2008)
Borrowed a DVD version to watch, based mainly on the wonderful feel good factor hype that abounds over this movie, and, well, the wife and I had to switch it off after 15 minutes. Just couldn't face any more. Meryl Streep singing and being overly bubbly and effervescent and happy and jumpy and running aroundy...just doesn't suite her acting abilities and other than the obvious Greek Island bits, the whole thing was shot in a studio. Julie Walters, I guess she hadn't worked for a while so she jumped at the chance of, err, starring, um, singing in a West End musical remake. What is going on...why did these 'named' actors sign up for it...nightmare...and the daughter singing mum's ABBA worded diary contents out aloud...nah...

If you want gushy, wet Sunday afternoony watching paint dry entertainment and never want to seriously listen to an ABBA song again, then buy the BD/DVD, although from previous reviewers, the DVD would seem to be the better deal.

Sorry. Mama Mia! You're rubbish.

No sing along option beware! (28 December 2008)
Very disapointed. Pay twice as much for the blue Ray version and dont get the sing along version as the standard DVD. Let down.......

  I loved it. (28 December 2008)
Like many husbands I got dragged to the cinema to see this but I have to say I loved it so much so that we both went back to see it again. Needless to say when it came out on DVD I was first in the queue and my better half said it was the best Christmas present she's had for ages!
As others have said it's simply a feel good film and whats wrong with that?

Film superbe! - Great Movie (28 December 2008)
English version under----

I bought this BD here on the UK site because it's not yet available in France. And I'm very satisfied, delivery occured before the anounced date, in less than one week. Concerning the BD, many languages are available, the quality is wonderful and the bonus are nice.
The movie is funny, with a nice soundtrack, it's a pleasure to share a moment watching it!

Great picture - no Dolby Digital! (26 December 2008)
I bought this for my good lady at Christas - we have ust watched it & it won't play in Dolby Digital 5.1 .

This seems bizarre for such a movie where sound is so important!

I spent a good half of the film annoying everybody by playing around with the settings!

Is this an error or have I missed something??
