I GOT DRAGGED TO THE CINEMA BY MY MUM AND SISTERS I WASNT LOOKING TOO FORWARD TO IT AS I DIDNT THINK I WOULD LIKE IT HOWEVER AFTER THE FIRST 15MINS I WAS CLEARLY WRONG. I FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS FILM. (16 November 2008)The NHS should forget giving out out the huge amount of anti depressants that they do and buy mama mia in bulk and prescribe them with that instead.... this is the most feel good film i have ever know!!! great for nights in with the girlies as you can have a good old boogie and a sing song around the room, great if you have just been dumped altho is has romantic scenes in the fun factor and the comedy will soon make you forget your heartache.A totally cheesy but very vibrant, well put together, funny, exciting, camp, happy, positive film, seriously from the second you put in on you will be tapping your feet in time to the music and by the end of the film your be on your sofa throwing shapes and reliving your youth. GO ON YOU KNOW YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO........ The best movie ever (16 November 2008)This is a brilliant movie and has alot of comedy in it. The producer has put all of the sngs in the perfect place so they make sense. This film is very funny and I would advise you watch it or if you already have then buy the dvd and cd. Charlotte Tyson Pathetic (16 November 2008)Pathetic at best. Some scenes piteous. A bunch of old actress/actors, some of which once at top of their career. Ideal for nostalgic looser. Far better than I expected (15 November 2008)I went to see this with one of my friends who really wanted to see it but didn't want to go by herself - and having read some reviews, I was prepared for it to be a bit tacky, with some dodgy singing and potentially less than great acting. But I have to say - with pride - that I absolutely loved it! Came away singing and feeling so happy - it's been such a long time since I've left a film feeling like that. The dodgy singing made me laugh so much and I think that's part of the charm of the film, and made it seem more "real". And so what if some of the acting is a bit off when the whole cast seem to have enjoyed themselves so much and the comedic timing is so amazing? I have to admit that I hated the first bit of it, very twee and a bit too forced, however from the arrival of the mum's friends on her island, through to the credits, I was smiling, laughing, crying and generally having an amazing time. So if you're watching it on DVD and thinking that you're going to stop, just hang on in there as I reckon that it gets so much better. The setting was truly tremendous and made me ache to want to go there and experience it for myself - making it ideal for both summer and winter viewing! In fact, I'm planning on watching it over the Christmas period to recover from the post-Christmas blues. I'd recommend this as a gift for people if they enjoyed the film or the musical - it's bound to be a film that they watch over and over again. It's Ferris Beullers Day Off or Dirty Dancing for adults! |
