| | Customer Reviews: Just love it (09 March 2010)Very little to say other than I just love it - limiting myself to two episodes or so at a time to prolong until Season 3 comes out (how sad!). I know Season 3 is currently on TV but it seems to jump from station to station with no fixed time. To my mind, the acting is superb - totally recommended - a 'get away from it all' experience! Excellent value (06 March 2010)I missed this series when it was first shown, It is very good indeed and well worth the praise it has had . The attention to period detail is so good and is yet another high class American drama series ( aka, The west wing , House , original CSI etc.etc). Did people really smoke as much as that ! how times change . This boxed set is very good value. Mad Men - best quality drama (02 March 2010)Quality drama from the creator of The Sopranos. This DVD boxset features all the episodes from seasons 1 and 2, including special features that bring detail insight into the making of the show. Highly recommended for the production values, acting from the stars in particular Jon Hamm as Don Draper and the visual styling. Mad Men - Season 1 and 2 [DVD] [2007] Wonderful Drama (26 February 2010)This series is one of the most enthralling pieces of drama I have ever seen.It is compulsive viewing on account of its wonderfully intriguing plots, great and varied characterisation and subtle implications.It never ceases to surprise and is well worth every penny spent on it! The best way to catch up (25 February 2010)I hadn't really heard about "Mad Men" until Season 2 started. I caught a few episodes on the BBC but failed to follow the series through. I really thought I had missed out. Then with Season 3 about to start on BBC4 and also making the front cover of the Radio Times, I looked on Amazon and there was all I needed to be a part of the "Mad Men" experience. My wife and I have watched the first 10 episodes of Series 1 to date and are really loving it. I am recording Series 3 on the hard drive of my V+ (Virgin Plus) machine, so when we have finished watching Season 2 we will seamlessly seque into Season 3. I am sure in due course there will be a Seasons 1-3 compilation, but for my needs this worked a treat. As ever the prompt service form Amazaon was first class. |
