Customer Reviews:

Actually, very good indeed (02 January 2009)
I really can't understand how the reviewer below can judge this dvd to be a one star item, and essentially express views that are blatantly untrue. This is a quite magnificent film, with an enormous ammount of Leonard Cohen music, and footage of him performing it live. It's true that Leonard doesn't actaully feature in interview here - as we all know he's not exactly a 'media slag' and prefers to spend his spare time in meditative pursuits,, but this is a completely different kind of film to 'I'm Your Man' which is a tribute to Leonard, rather than a biographical documentary - as this is.

And calling Cohen's producer and close friend John Lissauer, his first producer for debut record SOLC John Simon, his official biographer Ira Nadel, respected author Johnny Rogan and others of this calibre " a few people in the music business talking about Leonard Cohen" quite frankly shows a poor understanding of Leonard Cohen's history and music. Yes, buy 'I'm Your Man' if you don't have it already, but buy this too - if you're any kind of LC fan you won't help but enjoy it enormously.

  Disappointing (21 December 2008)
This was very disappointing. There is very little footage of Leonard Cohen himself, no interviews with him, only snippets of him singing. Most of the film consists of a few people in the music business talking about Leonard Cohen. Buy "I'm Your Man" instead, where you get interviews with Leonard Cohen and lots of his songs, sung by other people, one by him. Or buy his CDs.
