HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL! (26 November 2008)
CHEESY CHESSY. High school musical 3 is the best by miles, go to cinema and watch that instead! save your money!

I enjoyed it (but don't tell anyone) (06 November 2008)
As a straight 39-year-old man I was wary of watching High School Musical to say the least. However I really enjoyed it.

Okay, it is an all smiling all dancing cheesy musical. And you can predict the storyline from the opening credits. But it is done in such a pleasant way that you probably won't be able to help yourself singing along, even if it is to yourself!

The story is hardly groundbreaking. Boy meets girl on vacation. They click (singing a karaoke duet, of course) and, would you believe it, she is transferred to his High School. He's a top basketball player but has a secret desire to sing and dance. They try out for the school musical and the rest as they say is history, or at least a good laugh.

Some scenes are quite funny, the main and supporting cast are excellent. There's nothing more to say except enjoy this movie, even if you may not want to admit it afterwards!

cheesy and fantastic (19 October 2008)
Been trying to ween my 9 yr old daughter off toons for an age,
High school musical worked.
first play, complete silence totaly absorbed.
second play, tapping feet singing chouros.
and ever since dance moves full songs and teaching it to me.
I am a single parent and on a rainy day I know im in for a work out.

  It's alright (17 October 2008)
High School musical is alright entertainment, it got some alright songs, and some alright dancing, and it's a fine movie to enjoy on a boring saturday night (or something), but if you're looking for a real musical treatment, and want something extremely good and actors that are extremly good at both singing, dancing and acting, and a plot that really rock, I suggest you watch Newsies! That's how a true musical should be done!

  Cheese Balls (08 September 2008)
After accidentally buying 6 copies of this film, I decided I'd watch it until I loved it. It was pure cheese, with precious American teens singing in often nasal voices. On the surface it's something that I would usually hate - but somehow, it drew me in. This isn't to say that the plot was thrilling, well written, or easily defined as a plot at all - but it was enough to keep me in my seat and entertained well enough. Even though this isn't a shining review - I would recommend watching it if it's available to borrow - but not worth buying perhaps.
