| | Customer Reviews: Four Flops?? : ) (12 April 2007)No...no...it`s not that bad as you can see from my 3 stars.!!! In fact it`s a great show...well produced with great sound/picture and guest stars!! Then... why only 3 stars?? Well I`m a great fan of the Four Tops and their fantastic sound as a GROUP. And that is exactly what I`m missing here. Lead singer Theo Styles have a great voice...no doubt about that !!...but he`s so busy trying to use it HIS way all the time ...that the originally "Four tops Harmony" disappears ...and it all ends in what I will call "Theo and the 3 Tops"!! I know it`s a personal matter of opinion if the songs needs an "updating" or they shall remain as we know them from the "good old days". Anyhow...it`s really a great show and worth the money ...so buy it and judge for yourself!!! Four Top Magic (07 March 2007)Great DVD and fantastic performance by the Four Tops - they are timeless. I disagree with previous review -Paul Rodgers was absolutely fantastic in this DVD and he fit in just fine. What a voice!!! Great stuff and well worth wathcing. Fantastic four tops (06 May 2006)This is an excellent dvd. I have been to many, many Four Tops shows over the years and this is typical of their usual show. Although Theo Peoples' style is not that of Levi Stubbs this performance is the closest he has come to it. It was good to see Dennis Edwards on this show, do we presume that he was asked to appear in preference to the current Temptations line-up or that they were unavailable. The only poor part of the show was the inclusion of Paul Rodgers who did not fit in. It was great but sad to see Levi but I was pleased that his voice was still there. The editing and sound were very good and this dvd is well worth watching |
