| ![]() | Customer Reviews:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Formula 1 (02 August 2010)Great dvd, I just hope Jenson can retain his title, he has deserved it for a long time, but never had a good enough car until now. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Great unseen extras but incomplete (20 March 2010)I bought this for my dad for Christmas. He really liked it because it had extras that he hadn't seen during races, for example what was going on behind the scenes. However, they must have rushed it out for Christmas because it was incomplete and didn't contain the last couple of races of the season and that was disappointing. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() WRONG FORMAT! (23 February 2010)I live in Australia, and I ordered this item as well as the 2008 season review. Both are PAL UK formats which work on Australian DVD players. But for some reason only the 2008 one works. The 2009 review is apparently the wrong format. So I'm pretty cheesed off with it and with Amazon UK. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Dissapointed - if only the BBC did the review... (18 January 2010)It's not bad, but it certainly isn't good. A very "flat" review of the season. The commentator is the same guy that does BTCC on TV (where he is good alongside Tim Harvey), but he is reading what is a poor script that seems as if it has been translated across several languages with the same grammar. The on screen graphics are pretty non-existant, like where the spring falls off Barrichellos car, or where they are explaining the double defuser (unlike the BBC who did this well) which means if you don't know what you should be looking the commentary is pretty pointless... picky, but for the price, and the powers behind this DVD, the production budget was obviously small. They give qualifying no coverage. More imagination needed - 3 is a fair judgement, they should be producing 5's ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Decent F1 review but partially flawed (15 January 2010)The coverage of this F1 year spread over 2 dvds is very complete. The makers of this review really took their time and I think that this is a very complete summary of all the interesting things that happened on and off the track. Sometimes I thought it even took a bit too much time for some interviews and I started wondering about when we would go back to the racing. On the technical side, this dvd set (2 discs) is decent: it looks and sounds better than on cable tv. However, I am still surprised that the subtitles are still missing. Especially for the hearing impaired, this must be very disappointing. It is also a big annoyance to me to be honest, because your surroundings have to be quiet in order to hear the commentaries. The sound (dolby digital) seems more clear to me than previous years, so at least they are bothering to improve some technical specs of the dvds. In all in all, it is a must-have for every F1 fan, because of the fantastic and extensive coverage, but be aware of the lack of language options if you're a foreigner whose english is not very good. I hope that the FIA is considering to bring out dvds (and blu rays) with multiple languages and substitles some day in the future, but I am not counting on it as long as the people who are in control are british (e.g. Bernie Ecclestone). |
