Customer Reviews:

  Superb (22 August 2007)
There's very little to say about this match that hasn't already been said. Quite simply, that explosive start leading to Edwards's try is rugby at its very best. A better try will never be scored, however long the game is played (though the French came very close at Twickers in 1991). Brilliant and breathtaking stuff, with plenty more to follow throughout the game from an amazing Barbarian team.
Sit back, pour a cold one, and enjoy.

Must be seen by all rugby fans! (03 August 2006)
I am 25 and I have been really impressed by the quality and the modernity of the way these amazing players are playing.
There is nothing new in modern rugby. This DVD should be watched in all rugby schools in the world to know why rugby is involvement and happiness.

All time Classic (27 July 2005)
For those rugby fans who appreciate rugby in its true essence and spirit, this is a 'must have' dvd. Just amazing to see so many all time great players on the pitch at the same time.

The way we were! (11 July 2005)
Anyone over the age of 45 who loves sport, and rugby in particular, will enjoy the memories provided by this wonderful match from the days of our youth.
Apart from 'Edwards try' there are some lovely moments. The French referee 'mincing' onto the pitch, the uncertain and less than frightening 'Haka' and the wind blowing through David Duckham's hair, to mention but three.
It is hard not to make comparisons with the rugby played today, which I often find rather static and lacking in flair. Modern players are so fit that there is no room left on the pitch for them to display their creativity.
These were magical days, even if you weren't a Welshman! What a player Fergus Slattery was!

great game poor picture (22 June 2005)
Whilst the game is one of the best ever televised and a must for all Rugby fans the transition to DVD has not for me been a success. Whether I have received one of a bad batch or not the picture on the left hand side is blurry with a green haze particularly from the main game camera angle. The picture overall has bad definition especially on large modern televisions and is not to the same standard as the video cassette of this game that I bought some time ago. I feel that it may require digitally remastering to come up to the standard of the game it is trying to portray.
